Private well basics

Get to Know Your Well

A private water system has several connected parts. Knowing where they are and what normal operation sounds and feels like makes changes easier to report.

Know the main components

Locate the well head, electrical disconnect, pressure tank, switch, treatment equipment, and the route where the buried line enters the building.

Keep useful records

Save the construction report, pump model, service invoices, water-test results, and treatment information. Aqua can also search its Wisconsin well-log database from the property address.

Notice changes early

New sounds, pressure swings, sediment, odor, staining, frequent cycling, or a changing electric bill can justify a system check.
